Laveen doesn’t look like the rest of Phoenix, and that’s kind of the point — it’s a community that spent most of the 20th century as farmland south of the Salt River before turning into one of the metro’s fastest-growing residential areas. AZ Efficient Moving is based in Arizona and proudly serves communities across the state, and Laveen is one of the West Valley areas where we’ve seen demand grow the most as new subdivisions keep filling in what used to be open farmland.

Read MoreAbout Laveen, Arizona
Laveen — officially Laveen Village, an urban village within the city of Phoenix — sits about eight miles southwest of downtown, between South Mountain and the confluence of the Gila and Salt rivers. The community is home to roughly 50,000 residents today, up sharply from about 25 people when it was first recorded in the early 1900s, and its population is projected to keep climbing toward 70,000 by 2030 as new housing developments continue to fill in the area’s remaining farmland.
Laveen’s roots go back to 1884, when dairy farmers and cotton growers first settled the area, largely isolated from Phoenix by the Salt River until the Roosevelt Dam brought reliable water control in 1911. The Del Monte Market, built in 1908, is still standing today and is considered the oldest continuously operating market in Arizona. More recently, Laveen Heritage Park opened in September 2025 as the city of Phoenix’s 189th park, and a 90-acre mixed-use development called Laveen Towne Center is planned to break ground in summer 2026, bringing more than 460,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment space to the community. The City of Phoenix’s Laveen Village page has more on the area’s character and ongoing development plans.

Our Moving Services in Laveen
Our residential movers handle the full range of Laveen moves, and because so much of the community’s housing stock is newly built, a lot of our jobs here involve moving into a home with no existing furniture layout or landscaping to work around — which usually makes for a more straightforward delivery than an older, established neighborhood elsewhere in Phoenix. You can see the full range of what we offer, from packing to storage, on our services page.
We also handle single-item and furniture-only jobs for Laveen residents who don’t need a full household move — a new furniture delivery, an estate piece, or anything else that needs careful transport without the rest of the move attached.

What Movers in Laveen Typically Cost
Laveen pricing follows the same general structure as the rest of the Phoenix metro: home size, stairs and access, and whether packing services are included are the main cost drivers. Because Laveen’s road network was originally built for a rural, low-density area and hasn’t fully caught up with the recent growth, some parts of the community can take longer to reach than the map distance suggests — worth mentioning when you request your estimate so the timing accounts for it.

Local Moving Tips for Laveen Residents
Because Laveen has grown so quickly, traffic on the community’s main arterial roads can be heavier than expected during peak commuting hours — plan your move for a mid-morning or early-afternoon window if you have flexibility, rather than rush hour. If you’re moving into one of the newer subdivisions built in the last few years, double-check with your HOA about any restrictions on moving truck parking, since many of these communities are still finalizing their long-term rules.
